The location was wonderful! High up above the noise and bustle of Quepos overlooking the forest and sea to the north. We saw more wildlife there than in the Manuel Antonio national park by just sitting in the pool area looking out! We had a troop of the rare squirrel monkeys visit us in our first morning - adorable wee things! The staff were really welcoming and our room was spacious, comfortable and clean with its own balcony with the same view as above.

A Hidden Gem! What an incredible find! This hotel is truly a hidden gem, tucked away in a peaceful spot with stunning views of the ocean and unforgettable sunsets. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, with a beautiful pool area that’s perfect for lounging. Oscar took great care of us throughout our stay and made some of the best drinks we’ve had on vacation. The service was consistently friendly and genuine. It’s also very affordable, with easy access to nearby restaurants, shops, and the beach. Whether you’re looking to explore or just unwind, this place has it all. Can’t wait to come back!

The entry to this hotel is on an unpaved, one-lane road off the main road. Be careful of the blind turn off/on the main road. Once on the dirt road, there’s signs for the hotel, but no arrows to say which way to go! A GPS is helpful here. The hotel has a main building with all the rooms and a villa down the hill. We rented the villa. Check-in was fast and friendly. We were given welcome drinks of fresh watermelon juice. They have water and coffee available 24/7 at the main entrance. The villa was spacious, clean, quiet, and comfortable. They came in and cleaned the villa every day. We had 3 separate A/C units to keep the unit cool. The wifi was free and fast. We had plenty of hot (or at least very warm) water for back to back showers. The covered porch was a nice retreat, although it only has one lounge chair. The kitchen has a fridge/freezer and stove/oven. We had plenty of pots and pans to cook on the stove, but no oven mits or baking pans. We needed to go to the front desk to get a lighter to start the stove and oven. There was a sponge and dish soap, but no dish towel or drying rack. There was coffee and sugar, but no oil or spices for cooking. We really enjoyed the use of the pool. The water was clean and warm. Breakfast was included and was filling and delicious. It included rice and beans, eggs, sausages, fried plantains, pancakes (some mornings), fresh fruit, cereal, toast, coffee, juice (a different one each morning). They gave us a ticket for pool/beach towels. When we were finished with the towels. It was easy to exchange them back for the ticket again. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Even the staff who didn’t speak English always had a smile and a “Buenos Dios” for us. I recommend a car for this location. It’s quite a hike to the Main Street / bus stop. We really enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend it. I’d book this location again

First and foremost, the people at the reception and throughout the property were attentive, friendly, and helpful. The hotel helped with setting up a tour within Manuel Antonio National Park, which included pick-up and drop-off. The architecture of the property and well-maintained pool helped to make this stay very enjoyable. The meals were very good quality, timely with good service. I liked the eco-friendly theme of this hotel that also offered eco-conscious vegan meals on a menu with wider offerings. The view of the Pacific at sunset from this Hotel was breathtaking.

The hotel is charming, the rooms are spacious, colonial style, coffee and cold water are available all day. The pool is perfect to chill after a day at the national park. Monkeys can be seen early in the morning. The staff is extremely nice and accommodating, they went out of their way to make us feel welcome and help us get our tickets to the park. The view is beautiful and the hotel is far from the road so quiet!

- The included breakfast was tasty and filling - Staff was very helpful and attentive - The restaurant had a relatively simple menu, but with quality food and big portions. It opens at 7am and closes at 9:30pm which is a good time allowing for some flexibility in your meals schedule. - You can enjoy incredible views of the ocean and nature around the hotel while in the pool and/or while having a drink. - The property is located in a narrow almost hidden street just off the main road to Manuel Antonio, which offers both privacy and convenient access to all beaches and restaurants nearby. Edit: I just noticed I submitted the review under the other room I reserved for my mom and younger brother. I stayed with my family in the Villa, while they stayed in the Standard Room, which had a nice ocean view and a small terrace.

Our stay at Hotel Planeta Sano was amazing! A big thanks for the staff who made us feel right at home! Their kindness and attention ensured that our experience was unforgettable. The location is very convenient, just halfway between Quepos and Manuel Antonio, both accessible by public bus which stops just a few minutes walk away from the hotel. Our room was spacious, comfortable and clean, with a gorgeous view. The shared areas well maintained and the pool is great for a refreshing dip after a long day of hiking. The breakfast was tasty and filling, and everything else we tried at the restaurant/bar was delicious too.
